CHRISTMAS MESSAGE FROM PRESIDENT PAOLA DEL PRETE

CHRISTMAS MESSAGE FROM PRESIDENT PAOLA DEL PRETE

Dear friends

I love Advent: this atmosphere of expectation, with the certainty that the most beautiful moment will arrive, the birth of the Child Jesus, who will bring the joy of the Saviour!

In Naples, by tradition, each family makes its own cot and on Christmas Day the whole family goes out in procession singing.  The youngest one carries the “Bambinello” (the little Jesus) in his hands and places it in the cot.

All this is tradition, magic… and hope!
Will we be “born again” or “reborn” after these months of anxiety and fear?
Will we return to our lives where everything seemed easy and normal: travelling, meeting people, celebrating?
Will families come together again at Christmas?  And will our Sacred Heart Family be able to come together?

The theme of our mandate is “making family”.  Never has it been more important than today to gather around our Sacred Heart to meet, to pray together, to help those in need, to come out of inner confinement, to reaffirm our Sacred Heart identity.  Even if, sometimes, only by the means we are allowed…

“Courage and trust”, said St Madeleine-Sophie ! Courage and trust!
I embrace you all with affection and wish you and your families a merry Christmas.
